
Transferring Files to a FTP site via Internet Explorer
- Double click on the Internet Explorer icon.
- Clear the address field.
- Type in the name of the FTP site you wish to transfer files to. For example, in the address field: type ftp:// (name of FTP site). Typing ftp://ftp.diad.com will take you to the directory on the DIAD ftp site where documents are stored for access from the Web page.
- In order to transfer files to the FTP site you must first login. From the File drop down list select "Login as". This brings up the login window shown below:
- You will need to know the user name and password for the FTP site you are trying to transfer files to and then click 'Login".
- Once you have logged in correctly you will have access to the FTP site and can move to the directory you wish to place the files in. Once you are in the desired directory, drag the file(s) you wish to transfer to the site into the Internet Explorer window. You will see the files being transferred. The files will automatically be transferred in binary format.
- Close the Internet Explorer window. You are done!
